Shane O'Toole's new collection of architectural essays was launched by the RIAI on February 2, 2022 by alongside RIAI President Charlotte Sheridan and Emmett Scanlon.

The annual IABS-RIAI Golf Outing is held every September and is always a great day out. It is open to all levels and is traditionally followed by a dinner and prize giving in the clubhouse.

As always there are lots of prizes and the RIAI Golf Trophy is awarded to the highest scoring architect in the individual Stableford competition. We're sure the event will be a really enjoyable occasion for all.

Running for many years now across the Island, the benevolent breakfast has become a staple in our fundraising calendar. We encourage members to join with their colleagues and other practices to host what is a social occasion with a worthy cause. It is a valuable opportunity to raise awareness about the IABS over a coffee and a croissant. All donations go directly to support our casework. We are grateful to our sponsors over the years including Brooks and Kingspan.

On pause in 2020 and 2021, we hope to see the breakfast back this year.

The Irish Architects Benevolent Society provides assistance and support to those in the architectural community who find themselves in crisis. In order to achieve the necessary fundraising target in this most challenging of years, we are holding an IABS Art Event this November and we have over 80 pieces available for sale or auction, including pieces by the top tier of professional artists in the country as well as works by some of our leading Architects.

The annual general meeting to go through the years’ activities will be held online on the 10 march, we will forward a copy of accounts and agenda items to all that are interested on request. we ill issue a link in through in due course, look forward to seeing many faces again.

In Spring 2021 the IABS sponsored a series of free Mental Health & Well Being Workshop specifically for students feeling the effects and negative impact of working and studying from home.The workshops were designed and delivered by John Broderick, counselling psychologist, in association with People Dimensions International.
